What are this project's goals? How will you achieve them?

• At its heart, this project is about changing the way young people in Uganda see the world—and their power to shape it for good.

  We believe that when teachers are empowered with the right knowledge and tools, they can spark a quiet revolution in every classroom: one that teaches students not just what to think, but how to think-deeply, ethically, and with impact in mind.

  Our goal is to equip secondary school educators with evidence-based, high-impact thinking frameworks rooted in Effective Altruism, so they can pass these values on to their students. We want to inspire a generation that asks bold questions: What really matters? How can I help others most effectively? What kind of future do I want to build?

  We’ll achieve this through a fellowship program for teachers, offering hands-on training, community support, and practical resources. From there, teachers will lead student clubs, creating safe, curious spaces where young people can explore global challenges, think critically, and take action that matters.

  In a world where so many students are taught to memorize facts, we want to teach them to change lives-starting with their own. And we believe it begins with the person at the front of the classroom

How will this funding be used?

We understand that every dollar entrusted to us carries the hopes of real change—and we take that responsibility seriously. This funding will be carefully and thoughtfully used to build a strong foundation for lasting impact. Specifically, the funds will support:

• Training and fellowship facilitation: We’ll invest in expert trainers and well-designed materials to ensure teachers feel confident and inspired to bring new ideas into their classrooms.

• Classroom resources and club kits: Practical tools like books, discussion guides, and activity supplies will be provided to both teachers and students, making learning tangible and engaging.

• Ongoing support and program coordination: A dedicated coordinator will maintain close contact with schools, offering mentorship, collecting feedback, and making sure the program runs smoothly.

• Monitoring and evaluation: Transparent tracking of progress will help us measure what works, learn from challenges, and adapt the program so it grows stronger with every step.

At every stage, we commit to clear reporting and open communication, so our supporters can see exactly how funds translate into real growth and meaningful change on the ground

Who is on your team? What's your track record on similar projects?

Our team brings together passionate educators, strategic leaders, and community builders. Sekate Mubaraka, the Project Founder and Vision Bearer, leads the initiative with strategic direction and serves as the primary representative to EAIF and partner institutions. Barbra Kayondo offers oversight and ethical mentorship, ensuring the program remains mission-aligned and impactful. Gift Tryasingura manages day-to-day operations and community engagement. Moses Atwine leads curriculum design and school partnerships, while Kimbugwe Frank heads Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning to ensure we track real outcomes and continuously improve.

I (Sekate) bring over 10 years of leadership in education and youth development across top schools in Uganda, having successfully initiated values-based student programs like Scripture Union and Educate! clubs. I’ve led teams in both the education and financial sectors—managing over 24 teachers, 11 financial professionals, and overseeing loan portfolios exceeding $926,000. My track record in strategic planning, staff coordination, and financial accountability positions me well to deliver this multi-school pilot program effectively and at scale.

What are the most likely causes and outcomes if this project fails?

The most likely cause of failure for this project would be insufficient funding or lack of essential resources to fully implement the training and follow-up support across targeted schools.

We’ve built a strong, committed team and have the relationships, experience, and groundwork in place. What remains critical is the financial support to provide quality training, materials, and coordination.

If funding falls short, the most immediate outcome would be a reduced program scale-reaching fewer teachers and students than planned. However, even in that case, we are committed to running a lean, high-integrity pilot that demonstrates value and builds momentum for future support

How much money have you raised in the last 12 months, and from where?

In the last 12 months, I have raised approximately $3,200 USD, primarily from personal savings and small local grants to support early planning, community engagement, and pilot outreach activities. These funds have helped lay the groundwork for the project-including initial school visits, stakeholder meetings, and development of training materials.
