Project summary
Introducing high-yield outgoing ABU students to the concept of AI safety and Biosecurity and guiding them through bluedot courses.
What are this project's goals? How will you achieve them?
To introduce final year pharmacy, medical and engineering students at Ahmadu Bello University (who due to tightly packed academic schedule, know little about AI safety and Biosecurity) to the concept of AI safety and Biosecurity. To be archived through a three events: A summit, 6-weeks reading group with Bluedot courses and a project sprint.
How will this funding be used?
To fund event hall rentals, foot flight, accommodation and feeding fee for four experts in the two fields to come give talks, publicity, print reading group materials and other resources and catering.
Who is on your team? What's your track record on similar projects?
Folajomi Amao and Habeeb Abdulfatah, AI safety hub Nigeria co-founder and EA ABU President. I have co-organized the EA about training cohorts.
What are the most likely causes and outcomes if this project fails?
Speakers cancellation, lack of funding. The outcome is a single talk session with little follow ups.
