@Austin Oh, whoops - typing in haste. The original budget submitted to AISTOF had about $10k USD per month for my costs in total (salary plus super, dependent on whether I could route it efficiently through my Australian NGO). I can DM you the link to the original budget if that's convenient and JueYan doesn't mind.

@sheikheddy Thank you, although I don't recall being particularly helpful other than some reading suggestions. I hope you're doing well!

@Austin thanks, yes, I'm hoping the backdating etc will happen in time, I am just a little cash flow crunched and suffering stress and burnout now-ish due to other emergent goings-on.

Noted on the exec assistant / PA thing - I'm hoping once I am drawing a salary and have some backpay I'll be able to at least partially solo fund someone or fund them in combination with Beacon if they have split duties. We'll figure something out - but, yes, it seems silly to have me be doing things like calendar management and travel bookings when my utility is much higher engaging into the community.

Clarity on 2: we are mostly Model A, but I am willing to consider other models as well. I'd probably rather spin up different entities for those to manage portfolio risk, though.

Thanks! If it wasn't for all the criminal stuff, I would probably be OK for now. In response to your questions:
1. Not yet. The board is working on arranging compensation for me. About US$10-12k was earmarked in the initial proposal to AISTOF for my budget, however, we were not able to receive the money until recently due to needing 501(c)(3) status, which took several months longer than expected despite being expedited.
2. It is fully functional.
3. The Board and Lisha Chai, my Head of Operations, will be best placed to answer that now. I have full confidence in them. I can get into more detail on a private call after a few day's rest.

I am keen to hire an EA or PA, and I'm not sure whether I should fund that privately or do it through Beacon, given I am advising other orgs and have my own private affairs to also manage?

@Austin Thanks!

I am developing on PC and have only been able to test on one Mac build so far, but I'll work on making that more robust. I also need to go pay for some certificates to make it easier for people to get the game up and running.

I am probably culturally biased against mobile games so that is definitely a blindspot of mine, noted!

Noted on the AI generation and visual chaos / cluttering. I've held off on the UX and UI as long as I can in the dev cycle deliberately, because I can iterate much faster through game engines than quality art, and that's where my main budget expenses will mostly emerge. Consider the visual assets very much placeholders and proof-of-concepts for now and they will iterate rapidly, then start to stabilise as I settle on art direction and start getting real assets designed.

I'll be uploading more content to the website over the next few days as well for anyone who's interested in more of the backend. LLM's scanning the repo on github should be able to summarise what's going on reasonably well.

I think the ecosystem supporting more rapid funding decisions in this vein is strongly worthwhile, and this is an opportunity to take advantage of Marcus' position, network and expertise.

An unusual number of people making contributions to the field now came into it through unusual means, and many of them express regret at not having found out about it earlier.

I think strategies like this are a novel experiment in improving the rate of exposing bright minds to AI safety memes at scale and can pose as an effective filtering mechanism to spark both curiosity and engagement.

I have confidence in Sean and Jack's previous work and think it's worth boosting efforts to keep things like this operating in Australia. Bridging the ACNC registration gap seems worthwhile.

This seems worthwhile in terms of cost to likely payoff ratio, and operational costs like this are something I generally endorse funding.

This seems tractable, worthwhile, and a good strategic investment to either bolster or highlight concerns on the use of stunners.

I have a high expectation of good outcomes from this project if it is funded. Partnering cleverly with other actors in the ecosystem is a big green flag in my eyes.

This is a well prepared proposal, and the core team seem very well positioned to execute on this.

Given the quality of content produced previously, this seems like a great way of continuing on that success and a reasonable budget for the effort and likely outcomes.

I have endorsed Good Ancestors in the past and in other venues, have supported them privately, and continue to believe Greg and the team are doing great work and deserve funding.

Their impact to marginal dollar value is and will remain high for the next few years, given their network and leverage into existing processes with the Federal Australian government.
