Project summary

I'm a researcher, a crazy inventor and a father of two kids. Just like everyone else I've been concerned about the risks with AI, AGI and ASI, especially regarding the future life of my kids. After reading hundreds of articles, reports and books about these risks, I started to wonder last year which solutions existed. Convinced that researchers and engineers surely should have tons of proposals, I found that there (at the start of 2025) were almost no proposals or ideas for more general solutions to these problems on a global scale, not even on a national scale.

Being a problem solver and also a serial entrepreneur I started to work on a system to keep advanced AI systems governed and safe, both on a model/agent scale and a general global scale.

For the first time in my life I could use all my education (yes I'm a nerd, so I've studied engineering, coding, humanities and social sciences) in one single project. I don't like to brag, but possibly this multidisciplinary background was needed to develop a technical solution to the problems in question. AI presents so many different factors that it maybe isn't enough to be 'just' and engineer or 'just' a cybersecurity expert to find the solutions.

I've developed the architecture and also written and filed four patent families for my system. Now I've entered the international phase of the patent process and I'm also in discussions with several stakeholder to build the pilots and test them in action. The internal tests I've run so far are very promissing.

What are this project's goals? How will you achieve them?

Conrinue the IP process to secure international patents so my solutions aren't monopolized by any actors with political or corporate agendas.

Build MVP's and pilots to show how my systems work in the real world and start to offer my solutions to the industry, institutions and governments.

Deepen my contants and collab. ideas with different institutions, universities and companies worldwide - we already have some projects in the pipeline, but cannot proceed without funding.

How will this funding be used?

To develop and build MVPs and pilots, and to give the project runway during 6-9 months. Part of the funding will be for my own living expenses.

Filing international patents is an expensive matter, so part of the funds will ve used for that.

Finding co-founders or co-workers to scale the startup.

Travel to San Francisco and other important global AI hubs to find partners and funding to expand.

Who is on your team? What's your track record on similar projects?

The team so far is me, Pedro, reseracher in the humanities, with a background in social sciences and engineeribg. I've worked in cybersecurity and other relevant areas before. I've founded several startups before, like an internet seach engine that planted trees for part of the profit to capture CO2 in 2008. And an ecological French Champagne brand in 2018, for which I received seed-funding, which I return as the Pandemy halted the project.

I also work together with a couple of advisors from the thech and startup areas.

What are the most likely causes and outcomes if this project fails?

1. There will not be an independent AI governance and safety later for advanced AI in the nearest time. By independent I mean one which isn't owned by any of the big AI or IT corporations which are active today.

2. Other systems will probably be developed, but most probably with corporate or national agendas - which will not result in a neutral, 100% safety focused system.
