Project summary: AI agents that can make payments raise unresolved questions of liability and oversight. This project produces (1) an analysis of who is liable when an AI agent makes a payment, (2) a control specification for oversight of agent payments, and (3) an English/Spanish policy brief for Latin America.
Goals and plan: Over 6 months I will map liability allocation among users, deployers, developers and payment providers; draft a practical control specification (limits, approvals, audit logs, revocation); and publish an EN/ES LatAm brief for regulators and practitioners.
How will you know it worked: published liability analysis, control spec and EN/ES brief, plus feedback from practitioners and regulators.
Funding use: USD 45,000 for 6 months of full-time work (minimum viable funding USD 30,000).
Team: Mauro Agustín Andreoli, based in City Bell, La Plata, Argentina.
Failure modes: limited uptake, fast-changing regulation, or scope too broad.
Funding raised in last 12 months and disclosures: I disclose relationships/applications with IOG, CF, EA Funds and BlueDot. I will not double-dip: any overlapping funding will be disclosed and not duplicated for the same work.
