I am testing an alternative path to RSI using a process I call recursive truth exposure (RTE). The project is called Aperta Veritas. I have a whitepaper, and an operational prototype on my Github repository @ lucillegrant.com. Aperta Veritas was originally a system for inquiry and innovation, but after I noticed how it is recursive self improving, I applied Aperta Veritas to itself. The goal is to make as much progress as possible on the problems of AI Alignment and RSI. With funding, and access to compute, I will be able to apply the system to itself and refine it further. Revealing to the world not an ideology, but the actual truth. Veritas.
Compute is the primary bottleneck for growing this project. So that will be the primary target for funding. My living circumstances also need to be healthy and sustainable, and I will upgrade my personal hardware and home lab to expand productivity.
It's just me. Although I sometimes work closely with other AI researchers. Science is collaborative. And thrives when communication is open. Aperta Veritas is my track record. It is the primary sum of my work. A related project inspired AV. I developed the Distinction Principle. Explaining the mechanisms of distinction and measurement. Other projects include Convergent Inquiry, which for a while became Lossless Inquiry. These are processes, not ideologies. And they have been implemented into Aperta Veritas.
This project is developing a recursive process for revealing the truth. Researchers have been trying to optimize for value judgements. Personal ideology. Not the objective truth. The truth exposes lies. That is part of the process. That is part of the mechanism of optimization. The project will fail if institutions are threatened by what the truth might reveal.
