Children in Buea Municipality face increasing exposure to digital platforms via school labs and mobile phones, risking data privacy violations, algorithmic bias, and exposure to inappropriate or harmful content.
Schools lack localized guidelines or safety frameworks to teach children how automated systems, generative tools, and recommendation algorithms handle personal data
Train 500 children (ages 8–15) and 30 teachers across Buea Municipality to recognize online risks, understand basic AI boundaries, and safely navigate digital learning tools.
- Conduct interactive safety workshops in 12 primary and secondary schools.
-Train local educators to spot online distress, data misuse, and algorithmic manipulation.
- Host caregiver sessions on setting parental controls and managing screen time safely.
- To Create age-appropriate, Pidgin- and English-translated comic guides on data privacy and smart AI use.
-To Run hands-on exercises teaching kids what personal information (location, photos, voice data) not to share with online bots or apps.
-To Build capacity the capacity of teachers in digital ethics and child protection online.
-To Organize community dialogues for parents to bridge the digital generation gap.

Verifiable AI Track Record & Operational History
1. Grassroots AI Literacy & Applied Skills Workshops
Practical AI Training Seminars: Designed and delivered hands-on technical training at Johnson's Vocational Training Center targeting youth and young women. Curricula focused on applied mobile AI tools, prompt engineering, digital asset generation, and productivity workflows.
United Action for Children has implemented the following projects and has track records in them
1-Smart Vision Girl Project: Co-developed an initiative integrating mobile AI tools into precision workflows for local youth-led programs, combining practical digital skill-building with project execution.
2- Infrastructure Architecture for Connectivity-Constrained Environments
Offline AI & Digital Resource Deployment: Designed and implemented the hardware and software architecture for the "CITY OFFLINE Library" and "Youth Skills Library." These setups utilized local server nodes, MikroTik/Ubiquiti networking, low-power edge compute, and Starlink integration to deliver interactive educational materials without continuous internet access.
Curriculum Integration & Pedagogy: Formulated primary school pedagogue and activity manuals to seamlessly integrate basic digital literacy and AI concepts into existing institutional routines.
3-Ai Training on Wheels: Carried out Ai Graphic training within remote communities
We actually don't envisage it failing. The project is really a felt and urgent need for schools and communities. We have already taken into consideration issues of operational constraints, local pushback, or technological gaps and power cuts.
The total project budget stands at $18000
UAC operates and runs a number of social enterprises( 02 elementary schools, school farm, bakery, poultry, piggery and catering room) that keeps it running even without funding. Already we have been able to raise $5000 in the last 12 months from the following sources-
