I will buy and print out gift cards for the popular automation game Factorio and distribute them outside the OpenAI offices, such that AI capabilities researchers get addicted to the game and slow down AI capabilities progress.

What are this project's goals? How will you achieve them?

Slow down AI progress via Factorio addiction.

How will this funding be used?

The Factorio base game is $35, and OpenAI has between 4k and 6k employees. I'll buy gift cards for the base game, print them out along with a description of the game and why they should play it. I'll then distribute the flyers outside the OpenAI offices in SF.

Realistic I can only personally print out O(100) flyers, so I'm looking for $3500. I'll probably distribute the flyers in batches on Fridays over ~4 weeks, to reduce the chance of one incident removing all flyers.

Who is on your team? What's your track record on similar projects?

Just me. I've got 500+ hrs in Factorio and it's absolutely destroyed my productivity in previous years, so this could be very effective

What are the most likely causes and outcomes if this project fails?

The flyers could be redeemed by non-openAI capabilities researchers, or be ignored.

(This is all satire, in case it wasn't obvious. But if the money gets raised, I'll absolutely pull through and do it. This is definitely the funniest use of $3500, but maybe not the most effective)
