Flourishing House is a San Francisco-based initiative where we bring together capital allocators, operators and policymakers around one table to collaboratively build a system that addresses real-world problems and commits capital and policy in that room for real change. These big institutional actors will be joined by researchers and builders who help them use AI to model the singular world system using the house's own hardware (so it's off-cloud, aka on-prem)
Bring together the people who actually hold power over a system - that directly impacts and shifts a regional, national or global issue. We create an opportunity to bring them all into one room over a weekend, where everyone can work toward the same objective after months of separate meetings. The thesis is that systems change is stalled less by lack of access to capital or ideas and more by lack of shared causal understanding and coordinated action across people who rarely sit at the same table.
The project's goal in our current phase is to prove the core mechanism called the Flourishing Loop at a small scale before committing to a dedicated house. The funds would cover the direct costs of the first weekend and monthly gatherings leading up to it, i.e., a temporary Flourishing house location, travel, food, hospitality and the modelling costs (data, software and compute).
Flourishing House is co-founded by Adora Li and Joshua Uwaifo.
Adora was the first non-technical engineering hire at Scalable Press, where she led marketing and growth as the company bootstrapped to roughly $250 million in annual revenue. She's also worked with UNEP, fundraising for global affordable housing and co-founded Brightkey Partners. Since 2022, she's hosted 'The 100-Year Dialogues' dinner series, which brought together sovereign wealth funds, institutional capital allocators and operators across various EA-aligned verticals such as renewable energy, the built environment, and food and water systems which is direct precedent for what Flourishing House is intended to be.
Josh Uwaifo is an exited founder, AI researcher and strategic deployment consultant with a BSc in Discrete Maths from Warwick University and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from Edinburgh. He founded UEFO Pro, an applied AI research lab building world models in production for buy-side quantitative asset management, film financing and foundational model research. He also deployed AI solutions across motion capture and broadcast AR (Move.ai), healthcare performance and due diligence (Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi) and biotech imaging (AstraZeneca). He previously co-founded 88Labs, which spun out into Corner Education and was acquired by SEO Africa after a 10,000-student pilot.
Together, their shared conviction to facilitate tangible changes towards a flourishing future gave birth to Flourishing House.
Failure would look like the modelling weekend producing good conversations without any real commitments made in the room. This would only happen if the wrong mix of individuals are in the room and if principals don't consider it serious enough to attend. Business as usual would be the worst thing to revert to.
We have a few informal commitments to sponsorships in the pipeline, but the current phase 0 is run on founder time and a borrowed venue.
