I’m RJay Martin, founder and lead architect at Vector Labs. I build deterministic memory infrastructure for intelligent systems—technology designed to let software preserve state, identity, relationships, and provenance without repeatedly reconstructing context.
My current work includes Opal | One, the underlying deterministic memory substrate; PYAMV, a Python SDK for integrating that architecture into AI systems; and Kindred, a practical environment built around persistent machine memory. I’ve independently developed the architecture, implementation, benchmarks, and research behind the system, including published work on deterministic state evolution and compute efficiency.
I’ve spent much of my life building things, both physically and computationally. That background has shaped how I approach research: working systems matter more to me than elegant theories that cannot survive implementation. I tend to work from first principles, test aggressively, measure everything I can, and keep refining until the underlying mechanism is understood.
My broader interest is in infrastructure that makes increasingly capable AI systems more reliable, efficient, auditable, and persistent over time. I’m particularly interested in problems where better architecture can eliminate large amounts of unnecessary computation rather than simply scaling the existing approach.
I’m largely an independent builder and researcher, and I’m looking to connect with people who value unconventional technical work, measurable results, and ambitious systems that can be tested rather than merely argued about.
