What progress have you made since your last update?

• We wrote the paper and submitted it to ICRL 2026 as a conference paper: https://openreview.net/forum?id=Z10pxu0Q7X

  • It got decent (one 8 point and two 4 point) reviews but because of an ICRL leak, reviewers were not able to change their scores

• We believe the paper provides good empirical evidence that LLMs can do implicit planning in certain contexts (building on the Anthopic biology paper)

What are your next steps?

• If the paper does not get accepted we would submit it as a workshop paper to another conference

• Denis might continue to do some research on implicit planning together with michael hanna
