I was a litigator at a big US law firm for over 15 years. During the pandemic lockdown, I took a hard look at what I was doing and decided I wanted more meaningful work, so I quit. I took some time off before becoming General Counsel of Effective Ventures Foundation USA following FTX's collapse. It was supposed to be a short-term, part-time gig, but ended up being full-time for a year. I left EV US in December 2023. Since then, I've been working on starting Legal Advocates for Safe Science and Technology (LASST) to leverage my litigation experience to mitigate global catastrophic risks.
