NoEnterprise packages two things into one Apache-2.0 reference architecture. First, a multi-agent C-suite running on a single consumer machine: five named agents (CEO, CFO, COO, CTO, CMO) each with their own role-specific SOUL, tool set, and memory store, collaborating on a shared memory layer. They do real work, not demo work. Second, a 3-layer operational safety toolkit (WorkstationLLM) that keeps the agent stack from crashing the OS: pre-flight memory guard, in-flight request queue with token cap, post-failure watchdog circuit breaker with escalation tiers (SIGTERM, SIGKILL, service-stop). The pattern was born from a real kernel panic on 2026-05-15 when one of my agents looped and saturated my unified memory. I have run this stack as my only team for 22 months. 24 production applications shipped. Zero outside capital. What are this project's goals? How will you achieve them?
By November 2026: ship a public GitHub repo (Apache 2.0) containing the 5 agent SOULs, the inter-agent coordination patterns, the 3-layer safety toolkit, a turnkey installer (one shell script to bootstrap the org on a fresh Mac), a 30-minute walkthrough video, three case-study blog posts, and a documented post-mortem of the 2026-05-15 kernel panic with the exact diff that fixed it. Engage the Ollama / LM Studio / r/LocalLLaMA communities. Submit a FOSDEM 2027 talk. Concrete success metric: 5+ independent solo founders deploy the pattern on their own hardware within 6 months of public release.
Total target $40,000 USD over 6 months part-time (about 20 hrs per week). Breakdown: $26,000 engineering labor (480 hours at $54/hr), $5,000 documentation (walkthrough video + 3 blog posts + architecture diagrams), $3,500 cross-platform validation hardware (Linux workstation with NVIDIA CUDA), $4,000 community engagement (travel + conference fees for AI safety meetups + FOSDEM), $1,500 project hosting + community office hours. Minimum funding $5,000 still ships v0.1 (C-suite SOULs + architecture description, no video, no installer, no Linux port). Larger funding, wider artifact.Who is on your team? Solo founder: Ryan Hammer. LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/nobanksnearby/. 17 years as a professional cinematographer for Fortune 500 clients (since 2008). Self-taught coder since July 2024 (22 months). In those 22 months: 24 production AI applications including 3 SaaS products for legal-tech (REDLINE, DATAROOM, COVENANT), an Ethereum L2 chain (ACiD), a 22-chain DEX (TRAIDE), a multilingual AI personal coach (MAITE), a custom voice clone TTS pipeline (Charon), and 700+ original music tracks. No co-founders, no employees, no outside capital. Maryland HS Diploma. No college. Late-diagnosed Asperger's at 40. The pattern I am proposing to release is the pattern I run my own org on, today.
Three failure modes. (1) I underestimate the work to make the agent SOULs portable across machines. The current SOULs are tuned to my exact hardware, OS, and workflow. Generalizing them is genuinely harder than just publishing them. Mitigation: ship v0.1 with explicit caveats about platform-specificity, iterate based on community deployments. (2) The 3-layer safety pattern is mac-specific (launchd, vm_stat). The Linux port reveals platform differences I cannot predict. Mitigation: budget for cross-platform hardware, treat the port as a Month-4 deliverable, do not block v0.1 on it. (3) Solo-founder bus factor. If I am hit by a bus, the project stops. Mitigation: thorough documentation from day one, encourage community forks early. How much money have you raised in the last 12 months, and from where?
$0 in formal funding. My wife pays our household bills. I do not draw a salary. Parallel applications in flight at the time of this submission: NLnet NGI Zero Commons Fund (EUR 25K, for the safety toolkit specifically; application code 2026-06-1ba), Foresight Institute AI Safety Nodes ($40K, for the C-suite specifically), Emergent Ventures (Mercatus). I am being transparent because the scopes overlap. If multiple fund, the funds compound (longer runway, broader artifact); if only one funds, NoEnterprise still ships at the scope that funder underwrites.
