Project summary

Krantz is a theoretical solution to the alignment of symbolic constitutional systems.

It began as a simple game project for analytic philosophers to earn points by identifying the cruxes of other philosophers in 2010.

It is a mechanism that uses principles from the following projects (Metaculus, Manifold, Metadao, Community Notes, Kialo, Anthropic/collectiveintelligenceproject) to create a decentralized ledger of beliefs to be used in recommending lines of reasoning to each other.

It's a way for philosophers to earn money by doing philosophy on the blockchain.

Think of it as a decentralization version of a platform like X, where users can earn money based on how well they evaluate the confidence and importance of posts that are framed as technical philosophical propositions.

The overall goal is to direct a given user (based on an evaluation of their overall epistemology) to the most 'cruxy' proposition that they haven't really considered yet.

What are this project's goals? How will you achieve them?

It aims to allow users to create a blockchained set of their beliefs (really just a metaculus style evaluation of public tweets framed as propositions) that will earn them value based on how well their epistemologies lead other users to their particular cruxes.

The basic principle is to reward people for stamping valuable IP on the blockchain (a discretized social media version of research hub) that puts control of the recommendation algorithm in the hands of the users.

How will this funding be used?

I am a semi retired casino director turned minimalist philosopher. I can hardly keep up with bills.

I am looking for a grant so I can attend network school or travel to a crypto city to collaborate.

The end goal is not to build a new project, but to get Elon's attention and explain how to change the X algorithm to completely revolutionize social media so people can earn a living by getting an education in a public domain (this is metaphysically the same process as truth verification).
I believe this will accelerate the efficiency of public discourse by orders of magnitude and spread important breaking news and education like wildfire.

My primary objective is to produce a place for our future children to earn money by learning important things and sharing them with the world.

Who is on your team? What's your track record on similar projects?

I am completely alone and have been trying to promote this idea to philosophers and crypto enthusiasts since 2010. I am geographically isolated from any AI hubs and the buzz from ML in recent years has made it nearly impossible to collaborate on gofai projects online.

What are the most likely causes and outcomes if this project fails?

If it fails, the most likely reason is that it was too outside the box to get enough attention for momentum.

If it fails, machine learning based AGI will likely beat gofai to the punch and it will be in control of humanity.

Not sure what will happen then.
