Hanano Animal Welfare Organisation (HAWO) is a non-profit based in Somalia committed to protecting and improving the lives of animals across multiple sectors, including working animals, stray dogs and cats, livestock, wildlife, and marine species.

Our work focuses on:

Veterinary care and emergency treatment

Rescue and shelter for stray animals

Humane farming and livestock welfare education

Community outreach and awareness programs

Protection of working animals, especially donkeys

We operate in regions such as Kismayo, Afgoye, Dhobley, and Afmadow, where animals are essential for livelihoods but often lack access to proper care.

Our mission is to promote compassion, dignity, and humane treatment for all animals through sustainable and community based solutions.
